Truncated thermalization of optical waves through supercontinuum generation in photonic crystal fibers

چکیده
We revisit the process of optical wave thermalization through supercontinuum generation in photonic crystal fibers. We report theoretically and numerically a phenomenon of ‘truncated thermalization’: The optical wave exhibits an irreversible evolution toward a Rayleigh-Jeans thermodynamic equilibrium state characterized by a compactly supported spectral shape. This phenomenon sheds new light on the mechanism underlying the formation of bounded SC spectra in photonic crystal fibers.

In this paper, we report the numerical analysis of a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) for generating an efficient supercontinuum medium. For our computational studies, the core of the proposed structure is made up of As2Se3 and the cladding structure consists of an inner ring of holes made up As2Se3 and four outer rings of air holes in MgF2. The proposed structure provides excellent nonlinear coeff...
متن کاملEffective Soliton Fusion Process at the Advanced Stage of Supercontinuum Generation in Photonic Crystal Fibers
Soliton fusion is a fascinating and delicate phenomenon that manifests itself in optical fibers in case of interaction between co-propagating solitons with small temporal and wavelengths separation. The mechanism of graduate acceleration of trailing soliton by dispersive waves radiated from the preceding one provides necessary conditions for soliton fusion at the advanced stage of supercontinuu...
